Artist: John Kirkpatrick
This week John Kirkpatrick is a two-headed beast! For the first few days he will be totally unrecognizable as a morris dancer amongst the throng of The Shropshire Bedlams, the team he started in 1975, which showed the world a new approach to Border Morris. Later in the week he’ll revert to his more familiar role at Whitby, singing his heart out and squeezing every ounce of expression out of the various squeezeboxes of which he is an acknowledged master. After over fifty years of playing in dance bands, in duos, trios, and countless bigger combos, you can see John solo in his natural habitat as a champion of traditional English music and song.
